He desires to be known intimately and to have a relationship with his children. This is a fatherly love that is unconditional, protective, and compassionate, offering hope and support regardless of circumstance. Adoption and identity: When believers receive Christ, they are adopted into God’s family, gaining a new, divine identity as his children. This allows for an intimate relationship where we can call out to him as “Abba,” an Aramaic term for “Daddy”.Constant communication: A deep relationship is characterized by honest and consistent two-way communication through prayer. It is not about perfect language, but about approaching God openly, sharing your heart, and listening for his voice.Trust and surrender: A trusting relationship with God involves surrendering control and relying on his guidance rather than your own understanding. This trust frees you from fear and anxiety, allowing God to work his perfect plan in your life.Knowing God’s character: Instead of focusing on accomplishments or a list of religious tasks, a deep relationship comes from getting to know God for who he truly is. This is done through studying his Word, the Bible, which reveals his nature and promises.Love as the foundation: Scripture emphasizes that the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. God is love itself, and as you abide in his love, he abides in you.
