Opening Hymn: Thank you lord by Walter Hawkins:
Verse 1]
All kinds of diseases, people are slipping away
But as for me all I can say is
Thank you Lord for all You’ve done for me
Folks without homes living out in the streets
And the drug habit some say, they just can’t beat
Muggers and robbers, no place seems to be safe
But You’ve been my protection every step of the way and I want to say
Thank you Lord for all You’ve done for me
(It could have been me) thank You
(Or just another number) thank You
(But You didn’t see fit) thank You
(To let none of the things be) thank You
(‘Cause everyday by your power) thank You
(You keep on, keep on keeping me) thank You
Thank you Lord for all You’ve done for me
(Yeah, yeah, yeah I wanna say)
Thank you Lord for all You’ve done for me
(Yeah, yeah, yeah I wanna say)
Thank you Lord for all You’ve done for me
Sermon
Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have done great things for us by planning our salvation, paying the price for our sins, and offering daily care.
Created and loved us: God made us in His image and treats us as His dear children. Provided daily care: He watches over us just like He cares for the wild flowers and the birds in nature.Sent His Son: Out of deep love for the world, the Father gave His only Son so wemight live through Him.Died in our place: Jesus took the punishment for our wrongdoings and washed away our guilt.Opened the way to Our Heavenly Father: His sacrifice bridged the gap so we can boldly call Our Heavenly Father our Father and enter His presence.Conquered death: Jesus rose from the grave to break the power of sin and give us eternal life.
