We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. We also obey Our Heavenly Father in what he wants us to do, we have a very good and deep walk with him. We would like you to have that as well. A deep study on repentance. Thursday July 23, 2026.
Repentance is a change in view from the rejection of Our Heavenly Father to faith in Him. This comes the Greek word metanoia (to change one’s mind), it is an decision to transformation that yields tangible, transformed actions rather than just worldly desires.True repentance is not just feeling bad; it involves a profound reorientation of your entire life. According to classical theology, deep repentance generally involves these components.Recognizing where you have fallen short, characterized by “godly sorrow” over worldly grief.Taking full ownership of your actions without excuse Actively pivoting your desires and behaviors to align with Our Heavenly Father’s will. The Hebrew verb shuv means “to turn back” or “return”. It signifies an about-face where the individual leaves their sinful path and returns to obedience to the Lord. While metanoia translates literally to “changing one’s mind,” in the New Testament it dictates a complete change in loyalty—shifting focus from self-satisfaction to the Kingdom of Our Heavenly Father. Genuine repentance always results in observable life changes. John the Baptist referred to this as “bearing fruit in keeping with repentance”. For example, in the New Testament, the tax collector Zacchaeus demonstrated his repentance by returning his ill-gotten gains to those he had cheate. The Bible says, “For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. n the Bible, the word repent means “to change one’s mind.” repentance, in relation to salvation, is changing your mind from rejection of Christ to faith in.
We must repent of our dead works, our self righteousness, our belief that we can save ourselves, and turn to God, who can save all that belies
We shall see that 1) repentance is turning from sin to follow Christ, 2) repentance is necessary to salvation, and 3) repentance is a gift of Our Heavenly Father. Acts 11:18 says God granted the Gentiles repentance unto life. So just like faith, this repentance is a gift, a free gift given by his grace.
Closing Prayer: “Heavenly Father, I come before You today, acknowledging that I have fallen short and made mistakes. I confess [insert specific sin, if desired], and I am truly sorry for my disobedience. Thank You for Your love and for the promise of forgiveness. Please forgive me, cleanse my heart, and give me the strength to turn away from this sin. Guide my steps and help me to live a life that honors You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Salvation Prayer or sinners prayer:
Our Heavenly Father I am sorry for my sins. I believe Jesus died for me and rose again. I give my life to You today. Thank You for Your love, grace, and eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.:
