Rev.  Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss

We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. We also obey Our Heavenly Father in what he wants us to do, we have a very good   and deep walk with him. We would like you to have that as well. Friday April 3, 2026. A deep study of Friday  during Holy Week.

Romans 5:8: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

John 19:30: “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

Colossians 2:14: “[God] canceled the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This [God] set aside, nailing it to the cross.”

Lesson:

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, marking a pivotal, solemn day of sacrifice and atonement in Christianity. Occurring the Friday before Easter, it is considered “good” because, in theological terms, it represents the ultimate act of divine love, providing salvation and reconciliation for humanity’s sins.

It is the completion of Christ’s mission to pay for humanity’s sins through the suffering and death, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies. Jesus is deemed the final sacrifice, breaking the power of sin and death, making it a “good” day due to the immense spiritual benefit for believers. It represents the moment wrath and mercy met, with Christ serving as the substitute for sinners to satisfy divine justice.

Reflection, gratitude, and remembrance of God’s love are emphasized rather than despair, recognizing that the sacrifice leads directly to the resurrection on Easter. The events are detailed across all four Gospels (Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, and John 19), covering Jesus’s trial, crucifixion on Golgotha, his seven last words, death, and burial. It is viewed as the ultimate demonstration of God’s love (John 3:16) and a call for believers to embody  It is the triumph of sacrificial love over evil. .Often marked by church services, fasting, and reflections on the Stations of the Cross. A time for Christians to contemplate the weight of their sins and the greatness of Christ’s sacrifice.

Closing Prayer:

Lord Jesus Crucified, on this solemn day, we gaze upon the cross and see the ultimate act of love and mercy. Thank you for enduring the suffering, betrayal, and pain to wash away our sins and open the way to reconciliation with the Father. Help us never to take for granted the high price You paid for our freedom. In our own times of struggle, teach us to trust in Your presence, and may we live our lives as a reflection of Your unconditional love. “It is finished.” We trust in You.

Our Lord and savior we pray. Please forgive me of my sin

against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the

Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me.
