Rev.  Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss

We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. We also obey Our Heavenly Father in what he wants us to do, we have a very good   and deep walk with him. We would like you to have that as well. Monday April 6, 2026.  Easter Monday.

Easter Monday, while not explicitly mentioned by name or instructed as a holiday in the Bible, holds significance in the biblical narrative as the day immediately following the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is considered a continuation of the celebration of the resurrection and, in some traditions, marks the start of Easter Week or “Bright Week.  In many Christian traditions, particularly Lutheran and some Catholic contexts, the Gospel for Easter Monday focuses on Jesus appearing to two disciples on the road to Emmaus, which occurred on the day after the resurrection. The days following Easter Sunday are viewed as part of the period where the risen Christ appeared to his followers, providing evidence of his resurrection. Biblically, the resurrection (which occurred on the first day of the week, Sunday) initiates a new era of creation, love, and forgiveness that continues into the following days.

The appearance on the road to Emmaus is seen as a time when Jesus opened the Scriptures to his followers, explaining how the Old Testament predicted his death and resurrection. The Bible does not recount specific events that occurred on “Easter Monday” itself, nor does it command its observance.“): The Eastern Orthodox Church refers to this day as Bright Monday or Renewal Monday, which is characterized by special, joyful services similar to those on Easter Sunday, often including processions. Easter Monday in a biblical context is the immediate extension of the Resurrection joy, acting as a bridge from the miracle of Easter Sunday into the daily, lived reality of the resurrection for the disciples.

Closing prayer:Risen Lord, on this Easter Monday… fill us with the best Monday motivation for whatever lies before us this week: the joy that you have truly risen from the dead… The faith that you are even now making us more and more like you every day. In your risen name we pray.

Our Lord and savior we pray. Please forgive me of my sin

against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the

Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me.
