Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Jessie K. Weiss We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. We have a very good and deep walk with him. We would like you to have that as well. Saturday October 10, 2026 Psalm 8.

Psalms 8

The Glory of the Lord in Creation

To the Chief Musician. On the instrument of Gath. A Psalm of David.

1O Lord, our Lord,

How excellent is Your name in all the earth,

Who have set Your glory above the heavens!

2Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants

You have ordained strength,

Because of Your enemies,

That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

3When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,

4What is man that You are mindful of him,

And the son of man that You visit him?

5For You have made him a little lower than the angels,

And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

6You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;

You have put all things under his feet,

7All sheep and oxen—

Even the beasts of the field,

8The birds of the air,

And the fish of the sea

That pass through the paths of the seas.

9O Lord, our Lord,

How excellent is Your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8 is a joyful hymn of pure praise written by King David, bracketed by the signature refrain: “O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earthFramed in Praise (Verses 1 and 9): The psalm opensandcloses with identical declarations of God’s universal majesty, marking it as a song focused entirely on God’s character rather than human requests or complaints. [1, 2]Strength Through Weakness (Verse 2): God uses the innocent praise of babies and infants toestablishstrongholand silence adversaries.Cosmic Wonder vs. Human Fragility (Verses 3–4): Looking up at the vast moon and stars makes the writer marvel that the Creator of the universe pays any attention to frail human beings (“What is man that you are mindful of him? Dignity and Dominion (Verses 5–8): Though made a little lower than the heavenly beings (elohim / angels), humanity is crowned with honor and given stewardship over the earth, animals, birds, and fish. ]Biblical and New Testament ConnectionsFulfillment in Jesus Christ: The New Testament looks back at Psalm 8 through the lens of the incarnation and redemption. Hebrews 2:6–9 applies the psalm to Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a short time through His suffering and death, only to be crowned with glory and honor so that humanity might be exalted. Matthew 21:16 quotes Psalm 8:2 directly when Jesus defends the children shouting “Hosanna” in the temple, linking childlike dependence with true kingdom authority. You can read the full text and breakdown of the passage directly via Crossway’s Psalm 8 Guide or explore commentary insights at Enduring;  Psalm 8 describes Yahweh as the King of creation who made dependent humans his royal partners. This is unexpected and wonderful news to thons or dangers may cross my path. I pray that, like David, my hope will be built on nothing less than the Lord Jesus Christ and His perfect righteousness. Thank You that my salvation does not depend on what I have done, but on Who Christ is and what He has done on my account. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.

Salvation Prayer or sinners prayer:

Our Heavenly Father I am sorry for my sins. I believe Jesus died for me and rose again. I give my life to You today. Thank You for Your love, grace, and eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
