Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Jessie K. Weiss We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. We have a very good and deep walk with him. We would like you to have that as well. Sunday service October 11, 2026.

Opening Hymn: Chosen by Matthew West:How many times have you wrestled with feeling unworthy?

Outside looking in

Like you and your sin don’t belong

And that devil slips through

Starts telling you you’ve been abandoned

You’ve heard all his lies

But the truth’s been the truth all along

You have been chosen

Seen, known, and loved every moment

Called by your name

Yes, He knows it

So run like a child to your Father

You have not been forgotten

You have been chosen

If you want to see just how much a king thinks you matter

Well just look to the cross

Where love paid your cost in red

Oh, He did what he did

‘Cause it’s you that He’s been chasing after, yeah

Just to rescue your heart

He stretched out His arms and said

You have been chosen

Seen, known, and loved every moment

Called by your name

Yes, He knows it

So run like a child to your Father

You have not been forgotten

You have been chosen

You have been chosen

Come home to your seat at the table

Come home to your new family

Oh, the sinner who once was an orphan

Is now called a “Child of the King”

You have been chosen

Seen, known, and loved every moment

You have been chosen

Seen, known, and loved every moment

Called by your name

Yes, He knows it

So run like a child to your Father

You have not been forgotten

You have been chosen

You have been chosen

(Oh) Ooohhh

So run like a child to your Father

You have not been forgotten

  • Ephesians 1:3–6 – Blessed in Christ before the creation of the world.
  • 1 Peter 2:9 – You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.
  • John 15:16 – “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit…”

Sermon:

Being chosen by God is not about privilege or status; it is an invitation to identity, purpose, and action.nchored in Grace: Ephesians 1:4 teaches that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. Not Based on Merit: You were not picked because you had it all together, made zero mistakes, or earned a spot. The choice comes from God’s own sovereign love and pleasure, freeing you from the exhausting cycle of constantly trying to prove your worth to the world. Overcoming Rejection: When people overlook you, misjudge you, or leave you out, God’s election remains steadyUnshakeable Belonging: Just as Jesus called unlikely people—like hot-tempered fishermen, tax collectors, and shepherds—He calls you. Being chosen transforms your label from “discarded or second-best” to “chosen living stone” and God’s special possession (1 Peter 2:9).  More Than a Crown: Being chosen is a commission, not a lazy badge of honor. God equips the people He selects.Carrying the Work: You are chosen to show His mercy, bring peace, share forgiveness, and care for the hurting around you. It means standing firm and letting His light shine even when life feels heavy or broken. We have been chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world. Whoever we are, then, we are God’s. Here is my sermon on Ephesians. These sermons on being chosen explore themes of divine selection, spiritual identity, and the unique missions entrusted to believers.Mar 12, 2021 — Part of our identity in Christ is being one chosen by God. Knowing that God chooses us frees us from having to strive to be chosen by other.  Chosen People You belong to God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. .Paul is speaking here of a believing response to the gospel. You know that God has chosen you when you respond to the gospel in faith.

Closing Hymn:  Do you know that you were chosen.

Do you know that you were chosen

Long before the world began

That by God you were selected

And appointed for His plan?

Something in your inmost being

Tells you this is surely true;

That’s why you are in this meeting,

And you feel the way you do.

2

All the sins you’ve e’er committed,

Everything you’ve ever done,

All by God has been forgiven

Taken care of by God’s Son.

Struggle not, no; just believe this,

For His word assures it’s true;

All you need to do is thank Him

For all that He’s done for you.

3

Did you know that all the Bible

Is a will, a testament?

Everything that Christ accomplished

Is for all God’s children meant.

As His child you are included,

For His word stands fast and true;

So by faith you now inherit

All that He has done for you.

4

Did you know God has a family?

Yes, He does, in fact, it’s us.

That’s why we are here enjoying

All He is, so marvelous.

He’s our God and we’re His people,

Day by day we love Him more;

We’re so happy and so thankful,

We just praise Him o’er and o’er.

5

All we know is that we love Him,

We’re so glad for what He’s done;

We are brought to Him, and we all

Know the joy of being one.

We’re so glad that we’re included,

What a fellowship have we!

So we’d like to welcome you, friend,

Into God’s own family.

Closing Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your unfailing love and for choosing me as Your own. Before the foundations of the world, You knew my name, my flaws, and my heart, and yet You still called me into Your family.

Remind me that my worth does not come from my own strength, status, or performance, but purely from Your grace and mercy. When doubt, comparison, or the noise of the world tries to shake my identity, anchor me in the truth that I belong to You. [1, 2, 3]

Lord, shape a servant’s heart within me. As Your chosen people—holy and dearly loved—help me to walk out of the darkness and into Your marvelous light, showing kindness, grace, and love to everyone I meet. Guide my steps today so that my life honors You.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.

Amen.

Salvation Prayer or sinners prayer:

Our Heavenly Father I am sorry for my sins. I believe Jesus died for me and rose again. I give my life to You today. Thank You for Your love, grace, and eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
