We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. We also obey Our Heavenly Father in what he wants us to do, we have a very good  and deep walk with him. We would like you to have that as well. Discipleship vs. The normal in the world. Tuesday May 19, 2026.

Discipleship is the active, lifelong process of learning and imitating Jesus Christ. It actively rejects the world’s “normal” (which prioritizes self-advancement, material success, and personal autonomy) in favor of unconditional surrender, servanthood, and a radical commitment to God’s mission. While “the normal” of the world and the path of discipleship may seem to overlap at times (e.g., being a generally good person), they are fundamentally driven by opposite goals. The contrast highlights stark differences in how we view the world

Source of Influence and AuthorityThe Normal in the World: Culture disciples people through media, societal trends, and algorithms. It subtly teaches individuals to look inward to “live your truth” and act in ways that best serve personal interests or comfort.Discipleship: A disciple looks outward and upward, finding truth and direction in the Bible and the teachings of Jesus. The ultimate goal is to submit to Christ as Lord rather than following the whims of the crowd. [1,

Ambition and Power. The Normal in the World: Success is often measured by the accumulation of wealth, status, and power. The goal is to be served, recognized, and protected.Discipleship: Jesus modeled and taught a complete reversalof this. True greatness in His kingdom is found in humility and servanthood, where one’s life is poured out for the benefit of others.

Purpose of Life. The Normal in the World: Self-preservation and self-actualization. The objective of worldly living is to gain as much of the world’s pleasure, security, and prestige as possible. Discipleship: Mission-driven and sacrificial. Disciples are called to “take up their cross” daily, denying self-centeredness to love God and neighbors. The focus shifts from merely maintaining the status quo to actively participating in the transformation of the world. Community and Relationships. The Normal in the World: Relationships are often transactional, forming tribes with those who think, act, and look alike. Discipleship: Radical inclusivity and sacrificial love. Disciples are instructed to prioritize the marginalized and the lost, extending grace and service even when it results in cultural rejection.

Ultimately, the choice comes down to what controls your life: the prevailing culture or Christ. Exploring provides deeper insight into recognizing and overcoming the hindrances the world presents to true discipleship.

Closing Prayer:

Dear Lord, please give us strength to carry our cross, die to our own plans, and to put You first in our  life, even when it’s hard! Help us to stay strong and not give up, even when others might not understand. Teach us to be a true follower who loves and serves You with everything we have.

In the name of our lord and savior we pray.

Our Lord and savior we pray. Please forgive me of my sin against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me.
