Easter Sunday, often referred to as Resurrection Sunday, is the central celebration of the Christian faith, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his crucifixion. A study of this day reveals it is far more than a single historical event, but rather a “turning point” in history that signifies victory over death, the inauguration of a “new creation,” and a message of hope and new life.

It signals that God’s love is stronger than death, offering forgiveness and a fresh start (“new creation”) to people, breaking the power of sin. Easter represents the defeat of the “last enemy,” death, offering believers the promise of eternal life.: The foundation of Christianity is that Jesus was physically raised from the dead, as recorded in Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20.The resurrection confirmed Jesus’ identity as the Son of God, validating his claims and work of atonement. The resurrection confirmed Jesus’ identity as the Son of God, validating his claims and work of atonement.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, on this day of quiet, we remember that Jesus rested in the grave, finishing His work. Just as a seed dies to bring forth new life, we trust in Your promise that death is not the end. Teach us to take refuge in You, and in the silence of this day, strengthen our faith as we await the hope of the resurrection, making all things new, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our Lord and savior we pray. Please forgive me of my sin

against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the

Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me.
